Transylvanian Hunger was Darkthrone's fourth studio album, released in 1994 as one of the Norwegian second-wave black-metal records that defined the genre visually and sonically. The stark black-and-white cover photograph became one of the era's most-quoted sleeve motifs, framing the raw, tremolo-picked sound the record helped codify.
