Deep Purple formed in Hertford in 1968 and by the time the Mk II line-up (Gillan, Blackmore, Glover, Lord, Paice) came together the following year they'd built the run of In Rock (1970), Fireball (1971), Machine Head (1972) and Made in Japan (1972). The bubble wordmark surfaced across singles sleeves and gig posters of that era and stayed a shorthand for the band ever since. This tee lifts the classic mark onto a plain black body.
