Ocean Rain landed on 4 May 1984 as the Bunnymen's fourth studio album, cut with a thirty-five-piece orchestra at Studios de la Grande Armée in Paris and returned to Liverpool for the vocals, the sleeve shot by Brian Griffin of the band in a rowing boat inside the Carnglaze Caverns in Cornwall. The Killing Moon anchors the record; Crocodiles 1980, Heaven Up Here 1981 and Porcupine 1983 sit behind it, with Ian McCulloch on vocals, Will Sergeant on guitar, Les Pattinson on bass and Pete de Freitas on drums.
