Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band landed on 1 June 1967 as the Beatles' eighth studio album on Parlophone, with ~700 hours tracked at EMI Studios under George Martin's production. Peter Blake and Jann Haworth assembled the cover collage from wax figures and cardboard cut-outs of a hand-picked cultural cast, and the band posed in marching-band military dress in the middle of it. The design lifts the drum-head wordmark and the album's cover-collage graphic language.
