Public Image Ltd formed in London in May 1978 as John Lydon's post-Sex-Pistols project, joined by Keith Levene on guitar and Jah Wobble on bass. The wordmark landed on the sleeve of First Issue (December 1978) and Metal Box (November 1979), and the Logo treatment has carried the same identity across tour merch since.
