Individual Thought Patterns (Relativity, June 1993) is Death's fifth studio album, the progressive turn in Chuck Schuldiner's arc from the 1987 Scream Bloody Gore debut through Human (1991) and Symbolic (1995). The Florida death-metal lineup for this record was Schuldiner, Andy LaRocque of King Diamond on lead guitar, Steve DiGiorgio on fretless bass and Gene Hoglan on drums.
