Storm of the Light's Bane arrived in November 1995 as Dissection's second studio album, one of the records that helped define the Swedish melodic black metal register the Gothenburg scene fed into for the rest of the decade. The cover painting by Kristian Wåhlin (Necrolord) sets a hooded death figure against a burning horizon, and the textile reproduction keeps the deep blues and reds of the original oil painting.
