The Jimi Hendrix Experience formed in London in autumn 1966, the three-piece line-up of Jimi Hendrix on guitar and vocals, Noel Redding on bass and Mitch Mitchell on drums that recorded Are You Experienced, Axis: Bold As Love and Electric Ladyland across a run of studio and live sessions.
