Don't Break The Oath arrived in September 1984 through Roadrunner, an early-first-wave black-metal cornerstone fronted by King Diamond with Hank Shermann on guitar. The cover set the pentagram-and-chalice register that Mercyful Fate carried through the reunion records.

Printed edge-to-edge on lightweight polyester at roughly 70 by 106 centimetres, with a sewn pocket along the top edge for a hanging rod. Tougher than paper, lighter than canvas.
