Dissection formed in Strömstad, Sweden in 1989 as one of the melodic black/death crossover acts to come out of the early Scandinavian scene. The reaper imagery runs across the sleeve arc of The Somberlain (1993), Storm of the Light's Bane (1995) and Reinkaos (2006). Discharge-print treatment sits the reaper motif into the cotton weave rather than laying pigment on top.
