Stormtroopers of Death (S.O.D.) formed in 1985 as a crossover thrash / hardcore side project of Anthrax's Scott Ian and Charlie Benante with Dan Lilker (Nuclear Assault) and Billy Milano on vocals. Speak English or Die (1985) landed as the debut LP and became one of the earliest genre-blur records between thrash-metal and hardcore. The scrawled-lightning graphic reads as a raw, hand-drawn mark, discharge-printed into the cotton for a soft, worked-in finish rather than a sitting-on-top plastisol.
