Liverpool-formed in 1985, Carcass built the grindcore-to-death-metal template across Reek Of Putrefaction (1988), Symphonies Of Sickness (1989), Necroticism (1991) and Heartwork (1993), with the reunion-era Surgical Steel (2013) and Torn Arteries (2021) carrying the wordmark forward under Bill Steer and Jeff Walker. The Tools graphic pulls together the surgical-instrument iconography that's become inseparable from the band's identity.
