Back Chat went out as an EMI single in August 1982 pulled from Hot Space (Queen's tenth studio album, released that May and skirting the band's usual arena-rock register for a funk-and-synth direction largely driven by John Deacon). Deacon wrote the track and played guitar on the arrangement, and the single-sleeve wordmark on this tee reads straight from that 1982 release.
