In Utero released 21 September 1993 as Nirvana's third studio record, produced by Steve Albini at Pachyderm Studio in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. Robert Fisher assembled the sleeve around an anatomical-angel wire figure that carried the record's stripped-back register through Heart-Shaped Box, All Apologies and Rape Me. The sleeve became one of the most-recognised covers of the early-90s alt-rock era.
