Fontaines D.C. came out of Dublin in 2017 with Grian Chatten, Carlos O'Connell, Conor Curley, Conor Deegan III and Tom Coll, and the blackletter Gothic mark has been the constant across the catalogue. Dogrel (Partisan, April 2019) picked up the Choice Music Prize and a Mercury nomination; A Hero's Death followed in July 2020, then Skinty Fia in April 2022 landed the band their first UK number one. The wordmark reads across all three album cycles.
