Exile on Main St. landed on 12 May 1972 as the Stones' tenth studio album on Rolling Stones Records, a double LP recorded largely at Villa Nellôcte in Villefranche-sur-Mer over the tax-exile summer Keith Richards rented the south-of-France villa.
