Slayer came up out of Huntington Park, California in 1981 with Tom Araya on bass and vocals and Kerry King on guitar, the thrash four-piece that landed Reign in Blood on Def Jam in October 1986 and South of Heaven on Def American in 1988. The Divine Splatter print sits in the cross-and-splatter visual register of that catalogue.
