Pink Floyd's sixth studio album Meddle (1971) is the pre-Dark Side pivot record: 'One of These Days' opens it, the 23-minute 'Echoes' closes it, and Bob Dowling shot the sleeve photograph reproduced here. Since 2018 Nick Mason has led A Saucerful of Secrets through material from that pre-1973 window, and the Meddle sleeve reads as one of the era's most-recognised covers to fans deep enough to walk into an NMSoS show.
