The Wall dropped in November 1979: a double album, a 1980 tour with the literal wall built and demolished on stage every night, and a 1982 Alan Parker film with Bob Geldof in the lead. Scarfe drew the original hammer animation for the tour visuals, and his marching-hammers design has been one of the most-recognised pieces of prog-rock iconography ever since. Combined with the Floyd logo, the graphic ties the imagery directly back to the album and the band that made it.
