The Doors formed in Los Angeles in 1965 around Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore. Break on Through (To the Other Side) opened the self-titled January 1967 debut on Elektra, recorded at Sunset Sound Recorders in Hollywood and released as the band's first single. The design lifts the wordmark and the debut-LP era graphic language.
