The Jam formed in Woking, Surrey in 1972 around Paul Weller, Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler, the trio that essentially became the British Mod-revival movement of the late 70s. The back-catalogue runs from In the City through All Mod Cons, Setting Sons, Sound Affects and The Gift. The band broke up at the height of their popularity in 1982; Weller went on to form The Style Council and then his decades-long solo career.
