The Sex Pistols formed in London in 1975 around Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock (later Sid Vicious). Designer Jamie Reid's cut-and-paste, ransom-note aesthetic for the band's singles and Never Mind the Bollocks (1977) effectively defined what punk-rock graphic design looked like for the next forty years. The 17 Heart graphic sits inside that lineage.
