The Drop T is the Beatles' original 1962 wordmark, sketched by Ivor Arbiter as a one-off for Ringo's Ludwig bass drum head at the Drum City shop on Shaftesbury Avenue. The dropped T stem is the whole trick of the mark, letting the following ampersand sit flush against the wordmark so it reads clean from a stage-lit distance. Rendered in white on a grey ground, the mark reads quieter than the reds and navies but keeps every one of its 1962 lines intact.
