The Drop T is the Beatles' original 1962 wordmark, sketched by drum-shop owner Ivor Arbiter as a one-off for Ringo's Ludwig bass drum head and then adopted permanently after Brian Epstein saw it painted up. The lowered T stem is the whole trick of the mark, a small graphic pun that lets the ampersand sit flush and reads cleanly from every angle. Rendered in white and dropped onto a red ground, it reads as loud as it did on stage at the Cavern.
