Freddie Mercury designed the Queen crest himself in 1973 while still a student at Ealing Art College, mapping the four members' zodiac signs into a single heraldic composition, two Leo lions for John Deacon and Roger Taylor, a Virgo maiden for Mercury's own sign, and a Cancer crab for Brian May. It has fronted every Queen release since, from the self-titled debut in 1973 through A Night at the Opera in 1975 and out to the various Bohemian Rhapsody film-tie retrospectives.
