Hysteria arrived on Bludgeon Riffola / Mercury in August 1987, produced by Mutt Lange over the best part of three years at Wisseloord in the Netherlands and Windmill Lane in Dublin. Seven singles cycled off it, from Pour Some Sugar On Me through Love Bites and Animal, and the sleeve's starburst-face graphic in cyan-red-yellow has stayed one of the most-recognised eighties rock covers in the catalogue.
