The Woodstock Music & Art Fair ran from 15 to 18 August 1969 on Max Yasgur's dairy farm in Bethel, New York and pulled roughly four hundred thousand people through a bill anchored by Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Santana, Sly & the Family Stone and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Arnold Skolnick's dove-on-guitar-neck logo has stayed the festival's shorthand from the original 1969 handbill through the 1970 Warner concert film and every anniversary reissue, and the Splatter treatment turns that logo into an abstract paint-splash graphic.
