Fender Musical Instruments Corp. traces to Leo Fender's Fullerton, California radio-repair shop, which shipped the world's first mass-produced solid-body electric guitar as the Telecaster in 1950 and followed with the Stratocaster in 1954 and the Precision Bass three years earlier. The company's stylised spaghetti-logo wordmark has run more or less unchanged since the early-fifties headstocks and remains the identifier every player recognises across a stage from thirty rows back.
