Abigail is King Diamond's second solo studio album, released in 1987 as a concept record about a Victorian-era ghost story. The Kim Bendix Petersen project came out of the same Danish scene that produced Mercyful Fate, taking heavy metal into narrative-driven storytelling territory. This sleeve artwork has been a touchstone in metal-cover iconography for decades.
