Slipknot came together in Des Moines in September 1995 and turned Roadrunner Records loose with the self-titled 1999 debut, Iowa in 2001 and Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses in 2004. The barcode motif and 9-point iconography ran through that mask-and-jumpsuit era and became one of the band's clearest visual shorthands. This snapback lifts the barcode onto the front panel with a back-print detail on the closure strap.
