The Police locked their line-up in early 1977 with Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland, a London-formed trio that ran reggae, dub and punk through five studio records from 1978's Outlandos d'Amour to 1983's Synchronicity on A&M. The blocky wordmark carried across sleeve art and tour merch through the Every Breath You Take years.
