The Black Parade landed on Reprise on 24 October 2006 as MCR's third studio album, Rob Cavallo producing across LA. Gerard Way built the record as a concept LP around a dying character called The Patient, and the cover imagery (marching-band uniforms, funeral procession, ash-grey palette) locked into the visual language of the whole scene it helped shape.
