The seal-style crest was drawn by Arturo Vega in 1976 for the Sire Records debut and became the definitive Ramones visual, running through the Sire catalogue from Rocket to Russia (1977) and Road to Ruin (1978) all the way to the mid-nineties. The crest itself carries an eagle, a baseball bat and an apple-tree branch inside the ring; Joey, Johnny and Dee Dee all fronted the classic Sire lineup.
