Arturo Vega drew the eagle-crest in 1976 for the Ramones' self-titled debut, borrowing the layout of the American presidential seal and slotting the four band names (Johnny, Joey, Dee Dee, Tommy) around the shield. Half punk crest, half street-level pastiche. It became the band's de facto flag through Rocket to Russia in 1977 and Road to Ruin in 1978.
