The Doors formed in Los Angeles in 1965 around Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, and John Densmore, and ran six studio LPs across 1967-71 before Morrison's passing in Paris. The Collapsed design plays to that era's stage-trance, microphone-on-the-floor live imagery that defined Morrison's late-set persona.
