Yes formed in London in 1968 and helped define progressive rock alongside Genesis and ELP, with The Yes Album, Fragile, Close to the Edge and Tales from Topographic Oceans constituting one of prog's most ambitious catalogues. Roger Dean's flowing logo, designed for the band in 1972 and used on Close to the Edge onwards, has become as load-bearing to the Yes identity as Steve Howe's guitar work.
